Questions and answers

Ten questions people ask before signing in, with short answers.

What is wdid.gg?

A site that replays every death you had in a CS2 match on a 2D map and says why you died: Who saw you first, how long the enemy had you, the angle that was held, the nearest cover and the duel shot by shot.

What do I need?

A Steam account that plays CS2, the share code of one recent match and your game authentication code. Both are shown on one Steam help page, which wdid.gg links during sign-up: The share code as "Your most recently completed match token", the authentication code as "Authentication Code". wdid.gg asks for both once.

Is it free?

Yes, for your own matches: The replay of every death and every measured line of evidence under it. PRO adds the coach.

What is PRO?

The coach. On the deaths that cost most it writes the story of the round and the one fix to try. It also writes a takeaway for the whole match; the coaching page reads across your matches for the habits that keep costing you rounds. During the beta every invited account has PRO and nothing is charged.

How do I get in?

wdid.gg is invite-only during the beta. With an invite code you sign in with Steam on the front page. Without one, join the wait list on the front page or under the film; the owner writes back by hand when there is room.

What do you store?

Your SteamID, persona name and avatar; your match share code and your game authentication code, which is encrypted before it is stored and never shown again; the demo files of your matches, the positions and actions in the demo of everyone in the match and the coaching written from that. The privacy notice lists every item and how long each is kept.

How do I delete my data?

Write to [email protected]. Your account, your matches and your coaching are deleted by hand and the answer comes by hand too: There is no delete button yet.

Does it work for every map?

The maps of the current competitive pool are replayed.

Why is my match not there yet?

wdid.gg finds a new match by polling Steam, then fetches the demo and analyses it. The replay appears first and the coaching lands a little later, on its own. Steam sometimes takes a while to make a demo available after the match ends. If a match is still missing hours later, write to [email protected] and the owner will look.

Is this a stats site?

No. There is no rating, no leaderboard and no K/D graph. wdid.gg shows one death at a time, with the reason; the coach reads across those deaths for the habit behind the ones that cost most.
