How wdid.gg works

What happens to a match between the share code and the sentence that says why you died.

It finds your matches

You give wdid.gg the share code of one recent match and the game authentication code from your Steam account. From that one code it finds every later match you play and fetches the demo, the recording the game itself keeps. Nothing is installed on your computer.

It replays every death on a 2D map

Every death you had is a row. Open one and the round replays on a 2D map of the level: Every player is a dot. The replay stops by itself at the moment the killer got eyes on you: That is Auto-pause.

It measures what the demo knows

For every death, the same measurements, taken from the demo and nothing else:

Who saw whom first and for how long.
The angle the enemy was already holding when you walked into it.
The nearest spot out of the killer's sight, in metres and a direction.
The duel shot by shot: Every shot from both sides, every hit and where it landed.
Health, armour and weapons on both sides when the fight started.

The coach writes the story and the fix

On the deaths that cost most, a coach reads the same evidence and writes two short paragraphs: What happened in the round in plain words, then the one thing to do differently next time. Every number in those paragraphs is measured from the demo. The coach never guesses.

The coaching page reads across matches

Under every death, a takeaway for the whole match: Two sentences and one example from it. On the coaching page, the habits that keep costing you rounds, each with why it costs you, one drill to fix it and whether it is getting better match by match.

Free: Every death replayed on the map, with every measured line of evidence.

PRO: The coach's story and fix on the deaths that cost most, the match takeaway and the coaching page.

What it does not do

wdid.gg does not analyse your aim or your inputs. A demo carries no mouse or keyboard data, only where every player was, where each one looked and what happened. It is not a stats site either: There is no rating and no leaderboard, only one death at a time, with the reason.
